I have practiced law in Houston since 1992, focusing on immigration for the last 10 years. I provide cost-effective, efficient processing of employment-based visas on behalf of foreign workers with sought-after skills or knowledge. Visa types include:

  • H-1B visas
  • L-1 intra-company transfers
  • TN visas for citizens from Mexico or Canada
  • E-3 treaty visa for Australian workers
  • H-1B1 visa for citizens of Chile or Singapore

H-1B Visa

The H-1B visa is available to foreign workers in a specialty occupation who hold at least a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. To file for the temporary work card, the worker must have an actual job offer from a U.S. employer in a position requiring specialized knowledge. The visa is granted for two years and can be extended in one-year increments for a total of six years. The worker does not enter the U.S. until obtaining the H-1B.

Thorough Handling by a Knowledgeable Lawyer

I often work directly with foreign nationals who saw an advertisement in their home country and obtained an offer after contacting the employer. In preparing the H-1B application package on behalf of the employee and the company, we present the contract, birth certificate, work history, and credentials, and verify that the position could not be filled by a qualified American worker. We do not submit the petition until we are confident you meet the requirements for approval. This thorough front-end preparation not only reduces the chance of denial, but expedites the process.

Familiarity with immigration law, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), and foreign consulates enables me to address any legal obstacles that arise. We also arrange for a spouse and children to enter the U.S. with the H-1B worker, and can assist with H-1B extensions or applications for adjustment of status to permanent resident.
